Biography
You can see Richard Biggs as detective Bill Moody on Lifetime's critically-acclaimed hit "Any Day Now," a series that Howard Rosenberg of the Los Angeles Times calls "the season's best new hour of weekly drama, and one of the most absorbing in all of television."
Biggs, born in Columbus, Ohio and raised on Air Force bases across the United States, discovered his passion for acting at the age of 17. Biggs was on a path to become a doctor, but after playing the title character in "The Wiz" for the local drama club, he discovered a hidden passion for acting. Bigg's plans of becoming a doctor soon changed and he went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at USC on the scholarship program.
The irony of his earlier interest in medicine is played out in many of Biggs' television roles. He played Dr. Marcus Hunter on NBC's "Days of our Lives" for five years and then went on to play Dr. Stephen Franklin on the WB's series "Babylon 5" for the next five years. Additional guest star appearances include "Diagnosis Murder' and ",Crusade." Biggs has also starred in several M.O.W.'s including CBS's highly rated "Forever Love," with Reba McEntire and TNT's "Third Space," "'River of Souls," and "In the Beginning."
Richard's latest role as detective Bill Moody on "Any Day Now" has given him the opportunity to play a character that the average American can relate to. "He's the kind of guy the audience will like -- he's a chili dog and beer kind of guy," Biggs explains. In the story line detective Moody falls in love with Rene Jackson (Lorraine
Toussaint) and begins a relationship with her. However, things become complicated when Rene finds out that Moody is still married, although separated from his wife.
Bigg's extensive stage work includes "Fanon's People" at the Fountain Theatre, "Romeo and Juliet' at the Ensemble Theatre, "Tempest,"
"Cymbeline," and "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Will Geer Theatre.
When not performing, Biggs enjoys traveling and writing. He recently finished developing a play which he intends to direct. Biggs is represented by Linda Reitinan Management. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife.
